I’m working the Fairytales re-imagined over on CGHub. Haven’t worked as hard on this as I should have. First proper sketch:

More drawing from the life drawing group in oxford. First two from yesterday, others from last week.
This was over an hour long pose, the longest pose I’ve had in the group and it was a nice change. Two pairs of shoes because we had a break for tea and biscuits.
20 minutes. I like the poorly matched legs at the scan break. Good Job self.

I could have probably worked on this for several more hours, but I’m happy with it for now. I need to work on accuracy and speed.

So more life drawing posts. I’ve been reading Hogarth’s Dynamic Figure Drawing (I got an old ’74 ex-library edition second hand for £3, it still has that old-library smell) and its a bit evident in the later drawings. Trying not to start with the head first!
One minute Sketches
2o minutes, i feel pretty good about this one.
10 minutes, i think. I should start writing the times down more often.
I’m going to go with 15 minutes. This was bigger than I usually draw, and it’s probably better for it. Glasses are a bit Gaga though.
20 minutes
30 minutes. I see some Hogarth lines in there.
And from today, these were all 5 minutes.
Ten minutes. I need to work on head and shoulder connections, they’re a bit awkward.
And finally, 20 minutes. Head and left arm/shoulder not really working, and perspective is a biatch.
